Keeping the menu bar minimized when scrolling upward

January 28th, 2016

So, apparently, in the mobile version of Apple's Safari browser, you can prevent the top menu bar re-maximizing when you scroll up.

You know how the bar is minimized when you scroll down in order to maximize screen real estate for the actual content, right? And how it grows to its original size when you scroll upward? Well, it turns out that if you end the scrolling action before lifting your finger — as in, place your finger, swipe down, stop, then lift your finger — the menu will remain minimized.

Pretty useful, and something I'm sure everybody already knew about, but I'd never noticed.
